Nepali Ethnic Food Cooking Competition is going to be held. At a press conference held at Airport Hotel on Tuesday, informed that an online Nepali cooking competition is being organized for the connoisseurs of Nepali food for the preservation, and promotion of Nepali food which is disappearing with the change of society.The competition is organized by Raithane Chulho, Global Nepalese Chef Federation, and Gastronomy Association of Nepal. Chef Premlal Ghising, a Nepali food searcher, started the competition after completing one year of food search. The competition will be held every year, said Chef Ghising.
In the competition, a video should be made and sent to an organizer team about the indigenous food found in Nepal and the indigenous food of the caste. The cultural, religious, social, economic, natural and health aspects of the food should be mentioned in the video, said Chef Ghising. “With this competition, we believed our Nepali food will survive and the new generation of Nepalese living in the country and abroad can easily learn how to cook Nepali food by watching at YouTube”. The winner of the competition will be announced on May 1, according to the organizers. The jury will give 50 percent marks. The winner will be announced at 50 percent based on the amount of food description, hygiene, nutritional value, plating, ingredients, tools, and utensils used which are used while cooking in your video.
The jury will give 10 marks based on the use of the indigenous language. The judges included National Anthem Composer Vyakul Maila, World Cyclist Pushkar Shah, and linguist Amrit Yonjon. 5 points will be given on the basis of cleanliness and safety. The jury includes Chef L.B. Kaushal, Chef Shyam Amgai and safe Rajkumar Karki will remain. 10 points will be given on the basis of originality in which Chef Surya Kiran Shrestha, Chef Laxman Prasad Bhandari, and Chef Pushpathapa Magar will decide.
10 points will be given on the basis of national ingredients (Utensils, cooking materials, stove), and health aspects. Including Chef Govind Narsing KC, Chef R.B. Budhathoki, and Chef R.K. Lama will play the role of the jury. 10 marks will be given on the basis of cultural, social, and economic aspects. In which Vinayak Shah, Chef Arjun Thapa, and Chef Shankar Pandey will decide. 5 marks will be given on the basis of decoration and punctuality. In which Chef Narayan Thapaliya, Chef Mahesh Raj Dhakal, and Chef Bhavi Khanal will decide.
The First Prize will be Rs. 25,000 in cash, Equivalent of Rs 10,000 Gift hamper from Paicho, Active Membership from Global Nepalese Chef Federation, and Gastronomy Association of Nepal.
The Second Prize will be Rs. 15,000, Equivalent of Rs 7,000 Gift hamper from Paicho, Active Membership from Global Nepalese Chef Federation, and Gastronomy Association of Nepal.
The Third Prize will be Rs. 10,000, Equivalent of Rs 5,000 Gift hamper from Paicho, Active Membership from Global Nepalese Chef Federation, and Gastronomy Association of Nepal.
